Mechanical Engineering : Can all types of cutting operations be performed on a machining centre?

1. It depends on the macining center. Some are turning centers, others are milling centers, and some have a turning work piece holder, and multi axis milling heads.

Well, I have to agree with "nope", but I'll add a little detail, I have never heard of a machining center that would do; band sawing, plasma or flame cutting, or EDM on the same machine that did turning or milling and drilling. And while one could put a grinding wheel on any rotating spindle, I suspect that grinding would rarely be done on a machining center, machines specialized for grinding would usually be used. Also broaching and punching would be done on other machines.
