I'm a senior in college and want to be an engineer but I can't decide which one. I really want to do something that will help improve the environment. I know there is environmental engineering but from what I've read it's mostly dealing with the sewage system. Help is much appreciated, thank you. * I'm a senior in high school, not college, sorry about that. Big typo
i am a civil engineer i don't work as an environmental eng . but i briefly know how to treatment of gas ,sewage, solid when u have a project u can help to save ur environment so if u dont know which part of eng. since u choose i recommend civil eng.
There is nothing wrong with the guys who work on sewage systems, they're protecting the environment too. Personally, that'd seem pretty boring to me (I'm a bridge engineer). Environmental engineers do other jobs as well, though. Mining operations need them, civil operations need them, manufacturing plants as well.
How have you gotten to your senior year without choosing a field? The last 2 years of an engineering degree are specific to a field of engineering, are you currently in an engineering program? If not, prepare for at least 3 more years of college!
