What are the most important components of computer if you are building one?

I know CPU and RAM are very important, as well as the video card. But are fans and cooling components important too? Can anyone recommend me a good cooling units and other good components?

  1. Processor and RAM are probably most important because they determine the speed of your computer...but a decent video card makes a huge difference too!

(Always go Nvidia..I'd say 8200 GT or better, 260 GTX if you got the $)

Here are basic specs for a Good Computer:

    Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0 Ghz+

    2 GB of RAM

    160 GB HDD

    Nvidia 9600 GT

  2. CPU

    RAM

    VIDEO CARD

yes the fans and cooling components are important

  3. If you are building your own computer, I think it's quite important to select all the components carefully... If you go for cheap stuff it will either hold the whole machine back or fail earlier than the rest.

Having said that, the key things are the Power Supply, CPU, Motherboard and RAM - these things are critical. After that comes the Graphics card (this is more critical if gaming), and drives (hard disks and CD/DVD)...

A well ventilated case and good cooling fans is a must, although medern CPUs do run quite cool if you don't overclock them. Thermaltake generally make good case cooling solutions (I think) and for the CPU cooler, look here: http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/index.php
