What do I need to know about getting a steel/metal door frame installed?
I am calling contractors to have two wooden door frames replaced and would like to keep the previous door (secure door, but wooden frame). Does anyone have any experience with or tips on installing a metal/steel door frame? How much should this cost? Will I be able to keep the existing door or will I need to replace the door also?

- Steel door frames come designed with the hinges and lock bore in a particular preset place, for lack of better words. That being said the likely hood that your already lock bored and mortise hinges on the existing door would align with the new frame are slim to zero. When the contractors come they'll be able to give you more info. and maybe they'll have a special steel door frame that will meet your needs.
