How many of you actually listen to Heavy Metal on a consistant basis anymore?

When I first got into metal, it was one of the few genres I would even touch. Nowadays, I hardly listen to it, prefering other subgenres of metal over it. So, how many of you still listen to Heavy Metal regularly? Favorite HM band?

Ugh, I don't even keep track of genres anymore. It's too ridiculous.
So, I can't really answer your question for sure. I don't think I listened to much Heavy Metal to begin with.
That, and my itunes is eternally on shuffle. (:

If you mean heavy metal as in traditional heavy metal, then very rarely. I still listen to Judas Priest and Black Sabbath, as well as a few of the other classic bands, but I prefer subgenres, such as ambient black metal or technical death metal, or folk metal.

I listen to the traditional "Heavy Metal" almost everyday. Bands like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, ACDC...of course you can make an arguement that they are now "Classic Rock" bands but they were defeinitely Heavy for their time. I Mostly listen to lots of subgenres of Metals daily but every other day or so I play some of the traditional Stuff.
Black Sabbath is my favorite Heavy Metal band, however, Black Sabbath is not my favorite Metal Band.

About every day, but not exactly by choice. But I don't mind either. I would prefer some Death Metal or Deathcore. My 4 yr old boy is really into Iron Maiden and he plays the DVD's Rock in Rio, The Early Years, and a collection of all their videos. EVERY DAY.
It distracts from whatever I'm doing because I always drift off and zone out on the music he's playing. I usually wind up going in his room and watching him try to learn to play along with it on guitar.
Iron Maiden really does kicka$$, you know.
I also put in Dio, Accept, Metal Church, Ozzy, and COC alot.
Iron Maiden is the best of the bunch IMO.

If I'm not listening to it,I'm playing it everyday !! Listening to the "heavy stuff" is great....but playing the "heavy stuff" is even better...genre's/labels blow IMO....but yeah...I do fire up the metal in some form everyday.

I do, though now that I'm older, I rarely sit with a stereo on while reading the lyrics and liner notes. I usually hear it in my car, or at my desk at work, and read the liner notes and lyrics while on the can.

I listen to reg' heavy metal a little bit just not as much as all the sub-genre stuff
Judas Priest or Iron Maiden - I would say Black Sabbath but they were more Doom Metal imo.

All day, everyday. I like slamming my brains against the wall, yet I do so in a variety of ways. Sometimes its like a jackhammer is taken to my cranium (death metal/deathcore/grind) or me drowning in a pit of tar (doom/sludge). Sometimes its even quite beautiful (prog) but I do listen to the classic straight ahead HEAVY METAL quite a bit

I listen to heavy metal every day but not just that. It has changed a lot over the years, so some of what I call metal, lots of others wouldn't agree. I just listen to what I like and don't really care what sub-genre it is. I don't even know the difference to tell the truth. I hate labels!

Rarely, to be honest, if we're dealing with the 'Traditional Heavy Metal'-esque bands. I've actually never been a big fan of the genre, with few bands like Tarot, Mercyful Fate and Axel Rudi Pell catching my attention. Overall, however, I would much rather listen to Power, Prog, Folk, Death or Black.

I listen to all kinds of Metal every day, but if You mean Classic Metal, well I listen to that about every day too.

almost everyday, i listen to motorhead mostly and some others.

I only recently started listening to a lot of it to begin with, so I still do. It's only been a year and a half since I started listening to metal in any mentionable amount, though I did listen to a lot of crust punk before that and some grind, and it's only within the last six months that I started listening to punk and metal on a fairly even level. Mainly black and doom, but some death too.

I still like Heavy Metal as a subgenre although I do mainly listen to Folk, Sludge and Death Metal...In fact, this morning I was listening to Wolf's "Ravenous". Good album...

I listen to metal every day. But if you're referring to just traditional metal, then I still do pretty frequently. Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Mercyful Fate, and King Diamond are some of my favorite traditional metal bands, but I love many of the sub-genres of metal too. I'd say I probably listen to traditional, black, thrash, death, speed, doom, and progressive metal each at least a dozen or so times a week.

I'm assuming this is talking about traditional Heavy Metal.
I listen to Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Diamond Head, etc. a lot, sometimes more than others.
My favorite Traditional Heavy Metal band is probably Judas Priest or Diamond Head.
