Is it possible to repair a metal bed - and is it worth it?

I have a kind size Victorian style metal bed with a central metal strut with 2 extra legs down the middle. Because of a lot of action (not what you think!) the middle strut has twisted and the legs bent. I tried to bend it all back but it just keeps happening and this causes all the wooden slats to pop out of their holders and the mattress fall down. Do you think there's a way to repair it properly or should I just cut my losses...it's only 2.5 years old.

  1. no I think its time for a new bed, you could maybe repair it temporarily but in the long run best getting a new one!

  2. If you do it properly you can fix it to last 20 more years, and for few dollars, if you posted a picture i could offer you some advice.

  3. Those beds can be REALLY expensive to buy/replace so I'll say:

If you're good with a welder - yes.

If you're close to a friendly person with good welding skills - yes.

If no to the above - no.

  4. ye if you get it done properly!
