How common is age fabrication in India?
Several of my cousins (in their 20's and late teens) have false birth certificates. The birth certificates say they are born ~1 year after their actual day of birth. How common of a practice is this in India?

- Hmm...often...as often as www.ATMMasala.com
- Most of the people in India & outcomers of India hide their real age, Government should be strict about this matter because people take advantage of it, right birth certificate from hospital proof the real age. I tell a real life funny story about it one Dhakai bangal youngest brother in India retired from his job before his brother because his brother hide real age. It's ridiculous.
- it is like name fabrication so common as to be observed even with prime ministers, puppeteers of prime ministers and presidents;
'gandhi' has nothing to do with 'nehru' family on a personal level;
'pratiba shekawat patil'
Earlier, even 1 supreme court judge was found out to be having a difference in birth certificate.
- Though age fabrication is quite common in India, but if a person produces his or her age proof before a Government authority and through any means his false is caught than he can be in serious trouble.
If a person lies about his or her age before a Court of Law -- than that person will have to surely face the consequences.
