I just got the new Rachel Ray stainless steel pan set for Christmas. I hear they are awesome. The first time I cooked with them they leave that nasty look at the bottom of the pan like its already wearing out. Why? I know my dad spent at least 179.00 for them and that is expensive. So is there somewhere on the internet where you can learn how to "care" for your pans? What you should and shouldn't do when cooking with stainless steal. Thanks in advance.
my mom preheats them in the oven coated with a little bit of high heat oil
like grapeseed or coconut oil or Ghee
Like your kitchen sink, you can use a variety of non-scratching pads to keep the surface clean, but you really don't want to waste time polishing your pots daily.
My set was over $300 and I have the same problem.
Ps You can condition new pots and pans by coating in oil and heating them up first. Then cook your food. But if you scrape the surface clean again, then you have to re-condition them.
Pss Never use High, except to boil water.
